STEP 01
Capture the released configuration
Record the full FPGA or CPLD part number, package, speed grade and temperature suffix from the approved BOM. Keep the board revision and programming-file revision with the inquiry; a family name alone is insufficient.
STEP 02
Review replacement constraints
Separate an exact reorder from a redesign. A similar family label does not establish pin, voltage or bitstream compatibility. Ask engineering to approve a candidate against pin assignments, timing constraints and the manufacturer documentation before changing the BOM.
STEP 03
Prepare a traceable inquiry
Specify quantity, required date and acceptable condition or date-code restrictions. Request current lifecycle confirmation and traceability information. The archived catalog identifies candidate records; it does not establish present stock or manufacturer authorization.
Questions to resolve before requesting a quote
Does a matching family mean the parts are interchangeable?
No. Exact-device documentation and engineering qualification are required; source classifications and similar ordering codes are insufficient.
Are these records a current stock or price offer?
No. The source archive is historical. The quotation must confirm available quantity, pricing, delivery and acceptance requirements.
What should I include in the inquiry?
Use the full approved ordering code, required quantity, destination and delivery date. Include approved alternatives and acceptance requirements in the request notes.
